The New Year Round-Up

My sincerest apologies for not having blogged in well over a month. Like I said in my last post, I’ve had some personal difficulties (one odd by-product of which is not really having a permanent place of residence and therefore no constant internet connection) and as such haven’t really been keeping in touch with the dwellers of the interweb.
Lots has happened since my last post, though. Christmas has come and gone. I hope you all had a good one and wishing you all the best for the New Year. Oh, and Saddam was hanged yesterday, much to the relief of Iraqis and much to the chagrin of satirists and political cartoonists everywhere. They’ll live. He won’t.
Now, you must all check out my ridiculous stop motion animation that I made with the new digital camera I got for Christmas. Naturally, being a film-oriented person, I refuse to use the camera for its intended purpose, taking pictures, instead focusing my efforts on creating short animations of mirth and girth. So, without further adieu – Bunny Wabbit.
I’ve also managed to purchase The Nightmare Before Christmas and watch it twice. It’s one of those movies that you’ve seen bits and pieces of over the years but never actually sat down and watched it from start to finish. But I did the other day, and it’s just brilliant. A masterpiece of animation, writing and filmmaking.
Since the last post I’ve also finished reading The Light Fantastic and I’ve read the next Pratchett novel, Equal Rites. The third one was not nearly as good nor as funny as the first two, but I still enjoyed it. I’m now reading Imperium, Robert Harris’ latest book – a courtroom drama set in Ancient Rome. Very entertaining and intriguing.
Come mid-February 2007 I’ll be moving on campus into university accommodation. Until then I probably won’t have much access to the net, so my posts, if indeed there are any at all, will be brief and most likely infrequent and far between. For this I apologise, but we all know what life’s like at times.
Thanks for sticking by the Hovel, and I hope you’ll continue to do so. Though it may be a while between posts, I’m not going anywhere just yet.
Happy New Year!
Until next time…
